Brassavola cordata is one of the smallest of the Brassavola species, but is very floriferous. The flowers, which resemble the flowers of B. nodosa have petals and sepals that are apple green. The heart-shaped lip is white in color. The long-lived flowers are fragrant at night

Originally from Guatemala, Mexico, and Honduras, this has been described, awarded, and hybridized with since the early 1950's. The large, lime-green, very waxy blooms are distinguished with fringed lips. The wonderful lemon-lime evening fragrance is most enjoyable. B. digbyana blooms several times per year.

Bc. (Little Stars x Maikai) 'Hawaii' is a vigorous growing plants with many 3-4 inch rose lavender flowers. It is the hybrid of B. Little Stars that produces beautiful heads of mint green nodosa-like flowers with a large white lip that are fragrant at night and Bc. Maikai, a famous cross with vibrant pink flowers. It is an easy, vigorous grower that puts on quite a show when mature with multiple spikes .

Blc (Aloha Case x Hunting Island) 'Hawaii' is a vigorous, compact cattleya that can be grown on a windowsill. The size is influenced by the Lc. Aloha Case parent, which is a hybrid of C. walkeriana and Lc Mini Purple (L. pumila x C. walkeriana). Blc (Aloha Case x Hunting Island) seems to be always blooming with 5" dark lavender flowers with darker lips and good substance.

BLc George King 'Serendipity' is the hybrid of the white Cattleya Bob Betts and the yellow Blc Buttercup. This kind of combination generally produces pale lavenders, pinks, and art shades. The 'Serendipity' cultivar is large, about 6" across, and has excellent form. When the flowers first open the color changes from a pale peach tone and gradually becomes a darker salmon with peach sepals. The lip is red with salmon edging and yellow eyes in the throat. It is one of the most well-known of all art shade Catts and has been used to create many hyubrids with good results.

Blc. Laura Bush (C. walkeriana x Blc. Good News) 'Carmela' is an exceptional hybrid with 5 inch white flowers with contrasting red flaring on petals and sepals and a bright red lip. And it is also very fragrant.

Blc. Momilani Rainbow 'The Gypsy' is a compact grower that produces clusters of 3” flowers twice a year. The tricolored flowers are long lasting and have heavy substance. Plus they are sweetly fragrant! Blc. Momilani Rainbow easily produces multiple leads and quickly forms a specimen plant.

Blc. Pauwela Emerald is the hybird of Bc. Cool Green and Blc. Xanthette 'Chartreuse'. These are blooming with large chartreuse green flowers.

Cattleya Brabantiae is the hybrid of C. loddigesii and c. aclandiae, which was first made in 1983. Here two coerulea forms were used to make this cross, however they have been blooming with intense pink flowers with plenty of spots and heavy substance.

Found in Colombia and Venezuela, this species is in the background of numerous hybrids.Cattleya dowiana is one the the most beautiful cattleya species and is treasured by collectors since its discovery. The flowers are both gorgeous and fragrant.

C jenmanii enduring qualities include its wonderful fragrance, free-flowering nature and compact growth habit. It usually produces 3 to 5 flowers on a stem can produce up to 7. Blooms in the fall.

Here is another cross of two coerulea forms. Loddiglossa will bloom with 9 or more flowers and the leopoldii blooms with 7 or more. As these mature you can expect a spectacular display of green flowers with blue lips.

Cattlleya Olivetensis is the hybrid of C. maxma and loddigessii. Here two coerulea forms were used in hopes of producing medium-sized blue flowers with better substance and shape with the influence of a beautiful C. loddigesii.

This is truly a South American Beauty! Plants are attractive even without the flowers, with their roundish leaves and close pseudobulbs that will fill the pot and frame the attractive, bright flowers when they open!

Here is a good example of the differences that result from hybridizing. All plants are from the same pod. In some cases, the recessive alba trait was masked and in the other, it made it through resulting in a lighter colored flower.The hybrid of Enc alata and tampensis is a compact growing producing branching inflorescenses of fragrant flowers. They bloom in the summer and the flowers last for weeks.

This wonderful plant has several common nicknames: cockle-shell orchid, clamshell orchid and octopus orchid. The flowers appear to be upside down. The long sepals and petals are green and twisted and the lip is a dark purple. Enc. cochleata will continue to flower sequentially for months and it is not uncommon for it to be in flower for 6 months or more. It is a medium size plant that can sit on a windowsill.

This species is widespread throughout the bottom part of North America, through Central America and the top tropical regions of South America. This species typically flowers from autumn to winter. This plant can grow into large specimens. The flower can be extremely variable in size and generally has greenish sepals and petals and a frilly white labellum. This particular variety gets more of a goldish yellow color to the sepals and petals.

Laelia purpurata is without doubt one of the finest of all cultivated orchids. In addition to its large showy flowers, it has one of the widest ranges of color forms. Cattleya aurantiaca is a wonderful floriferous Cattleya that blooms young with cluster of flowers. The red-orange flowers are about 2" and present themselves in clusters of upto 15 flowers. It is an easy to grow plant that stays in bloom for a long time.
